Chest wall muscle rigidity - Stiff/wooden chest

Stiff chest from chest wall/respiratory muscle spasm or contracture. May cause apnea, acute respiratory compromise/failure and death. May associate with tetany and/or laryngospasm (see also VIIIe and IXi)
