Bezoars, pharmacobezoars and body packing expose to multiple risks: mechanical obstrucation causing UAO (esophageal bezoars), abrupt increases in drug concentrations in blood causing toxicity or and death (gastric/intestinal bezoars), extended release of drug caisung exaggerated and/or prolonged effects (PMID 22708228).
